Meet Rabbi Stuart Federow
Rabbi Stuart Federow is the Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Shaar Hashalom and a lifelong teacher of Judaism. Growing up in Springfield, Missouri, in a unique community where Reform and Orthodox congregations shared one home, he developed early on the inclusive, bridge-building spirit that continues to define his work.
A gifted educator from childhood, Rabbi Federow has spent his life helping others understand Judaism with clarity, warmth, and openness. His career spans communities across Mississippi, Louisiana, California, and Texas, including his service as Executive Director of the Hillel Foundation of Greater Houston. His greatest passion remains teaching—whether to children, adults, students, or seekers of all backgrounds.
Renowned for his interfaith engagement, Rabbi Federow created A Show of Faith, the live radio program where he dialogues weekly with clergy of different traditions about religion, culture, and current events. He is also the author of Judaism and Christianity: A Contrast and creator of WhatJewsBelieve.org, a widely used educational resource.
Honored with an honorary Doctor of Divinity for over 25 years of dedicated service, Rabbi Federow continues to bring insight, compassion, and intellectual curiosity to everyone he teaches.
Meet Dr. David B. Capes
Dr. David B. Capes is one of today’s leading New Testament scholars and serves as the Director of the Lanier Theological Library in Houston, Texas. A former Dean and Professor of New Testament at Wheaton College, he spent 25 years shaping the academic life of Houston Baptist University—now Houston Christian University. He is the author, co-author, or editor of fourteen influential books, including The Divine Christ, Old Testament Yahweh Texts in Paul’s Christology, and Rediscovering Paul.
For more than fourteen years, Dr. Capes has reached audiences far beyond the classroom as co-host of the weekly radio program A Show of Faith on AM 1070. He also co-hosts two acclaimed podcasts: Exegetically Speaking with Wheaton College and The Stone Chapel at the Lanier Theological Library.
Beyond his scholarship, Dr. Capes is known for his warmth, humor, and deep humanity. A lifelong student of Scripture, he is also a husband of more than 40 years, a dog rescuer, a lover of good novels, and a devoted father and grandfather. His family story—marked by joy, loss, faith, and resilience—continues to shape his commitment to helping others understand the hope found within the biblical witness.

Meet Father Mario J. Arroyo
Father Mario J. Arroyo is a retired Catholic priest of the Archdiocese of Galveston–Houston and the longtime Senior Pastor of St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church. Ordained on June 3, 1977, and originally from Havana, Cuba, Fr. Mario has devoted more than four decades to pastoral ministry, theological reflection, and compassionate leadership. For 26 years, he faithfully served the vibrant community of St. Cyril, guiding thousands through moments of growth, challenge, celebration, and deepening faith.
Educated at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, where he studied Philosophy and Theology, Fr. Mario is known for his thoughtful, accessible approach to Catholic teaching. His favorite guiding principle—drawn from Karl Rahner—captures his pastoral heart: “Any question, sincerely asked, is better than the dull stupidity of one for whom everything is always quite clear.”
Since retiring on June 30, 2024, Fr. Mario continues to share his wisdom through dialogue and public ministry. As a key voice on A Show of Faith, he brings a Catholic perspective marked by clarity, curiosity, and a profound respect for the diversity of human experience. His presence enriches the show’s interfaith conversations, offering insight rooted in decades of service and theological depth.
Meet Rodolfo E. Köng
Rodolfo E. Köng is a systems engineer, theologian, and humanitarian whose work bridges the worlds of faith, leadership, and large-scale project management. With experience guiding multi-million-dollar construction and engineering initiatives, he brings a strategic and people-centered approach to solving complex problems.
As Co-Host of A Show of Faith, Rodolfo offers a thoughtful millennial perspective on the intersection of spirituality, culture, and modern society. His background in both engineering and theology allows him to connect practical challenges with deeper questions of meaning and purpose.
Rodolfo also serves as Director of NUTEJE America, leading community development projects across Central America focused on education, infrastructure, and sustainable growth. His work reflects a commitment to dialogue, ethical leadership, and building systems that uplift and empower communities.
